?? History of More Farm Store

The Beginning
In 1913, Homer More started a hardware store in Arcola, Indiana named "Arcola Hardware." At his store, Homer sold Ford and Allis Chalmers tractors among other hardware equipment. Among others, Homer operated the business with his son Harold Eugene (Gene) More.

A New Business
After working with his father at Arcola Hardware, Gene More started a tractor store on South Main Street in Columbia City, IN on March 12, 1938. Gene called his business Whitley County Tractor Sales, and began selling Allis Chalmers tractors. As the business grew, Gene moved locations and eventually in 1948, built what is our current dwelling on East Business 30. In 1965, More Farm Store added Oliver equipment in addition to New Holland and New Idea implements. In 1962 Gene was joined in business by his son Leon More. Five years later, in 1967, Steve More, also son of Gene More, joined in the business.

More Farm Store Today
After completing his education at the University of Indianapolis, Andy More, son of Steve More, came to work for his father at the store. Currently, More Farm Store is owned and operated by Steve and Andy More. As times have changed, so have the brands we carry. More Farm Store carries Kubota Tractors, Toro mowers, BadBoy mowers, Stihl outdoor power equipment and Land Pride implements.
